Breathe!

Last night I couldn’t fall asleep so I grasped a book that I haven’t read before. It was a book “Breathe” given by my dear special friend.
And I realize I had a very hectic life and all I need is just a BREATH. Yes, I need to have a breathe in the midst of all expectations from others on me, bombards of information and analysis, and responsibilities.

The chapters challenged me to rethink the followings:
1. Whose approval am I seeking? God or others?
2. What is my focus? I found I am very multi-tasking person and always lack of focus. And I learn that I just need to focus on one thing (should be one person)—God.
3. What is/are the motivations behind my busyness? Being afraid to say no for the fear of being rejected or viewed as unimportant, or for glorifying God?

Also, the book provided ways to help me take a deep breathe. I haven’t finished the book and some chapters help already.
1. Set a Sabbath Day for myself: No email, no laundry, no shopping, no calls back to friend, etc.
2. Breathe slowly
3. Focus (I just suddenly remember Jesus told Martha that she was worried/upset for MANY things while Mary has chosen the best ONE thing. So I think I need to practice “ONE THING ONLY” principle. )
4. Doing exercise: When you are running, you are not “Doing” anything at all. Just try to stay calm and run forward toward the goal. It can be physical as well as spiritual practice. They are not exclusive to each other though.
